In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

There are many ways of starting a film. You could see titles then the movie starts straights away, there could be a few titles then some of the movie then some more titles or alternatively they could show a few minutes of the film and then all of the titles at once.
Here is a thriller/horror film that similar conventions to our film, there is a female killer which is not a typical convention of a murderer. This challenges normal film conventions. The fact that we used a woman is likely to draw a wider audience because the main viewers of thriller movies are men. Women might be able to relate to either character in our film because it is almost like the killer is an everyday person with a hidden personality.



It is also similarto our film because one of the victims that is killed by the woman is wearing a white top.

One convention that we use that is similar to most thriller films is that we've used a flashback at the start of the film but it is not entirely clear why. We chose to do this so its adds some more interesting thriller-type conventions.

The beginning of our films starts with the last shot of the film, presenting the film in non-chronological order creates a sense of insecurity in the audience because they are unaware of what is going to happen next because the timeline of the film is not in the correct order. Tarintino uses this technique in Pulp Fiction.

The POV shot from the killers point of view in our film is similar to a shot used in a film called To Kill A Mockingbird. It creates a personal feel in the audience as if they are the killer so they then feel as if it is them looking through the window so the feel a relation between them and the killer.
